Really good sushi it's cash only which is a positive. I highly advise sitting at the bar. The service and quality of the fish is good I really liked my 8 piece selection with a sake. Even on a bad day it felt good.

I've been here many times throughout the past two decades and I will always make the track to Sawtelle just for the sushi here. Although it is cash only, I always have plenty in my wallet to cover me and a couple of friends. They also have an ATM machine that you can use right in the restaurant in case you are short. The staff are kind and attentive, but they can't see you until your entire party is present. This is fair, considering how many people leave or take up space even when there are other people who are there and can be seated. The quality of the food cannot be beat and I wish I lived closer so I could take advantage of their lunch menu. I personally recommend the tempura and chicken teriyaki combo because the chicken is seared perfectly just enough sauce that it doesn't feel overwhelming. I'm also a big fan of the monkfish liver because unlike other sushi restaurants that tend to cut it in circles, Hide Sushi creates a paste out of it, and puts it on top of the rice. This health balance the richness of the liver with the plainness of the rice.

I had such a good experience at the sushi bar. I loved watching the chefs make my food in front of me - with such care and attention to detail, too. Really fresh and good quality ingredients with super fair prices. I got salmon and seared albacore, plus a spicy tuna roll. Everything was amazing and probably the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had. Warning: CASH ONLY. Tl;dr: high quality sushi for fair prices in a cool sushi bar environment

It's a good spot in Sawtelle for some enjoyable sushi, and it's a perfect place for a date or to hang out with a big group. We waited 20 minutes for the two of us and wrote our names on a list. Our server was super friendly and told us there wasn't any more Toro Sushi. Such a bummer :( We split their two (2) piece Salmon Nigiri, which was pretty decent, but the consistency of the salmon was different. We also got their Tekka Maki Sushi, 18 pieces ($22), which was filling. We then finished our night off with a BOOM with their Chicken Teriyaki! I'm not going to lie, but this has to be a top chicken teriyaki for me because I liked the amount of sauce, and it had crispy skin! It's such a unique twist on chicken teriyaki, and I loved it! I would solely come back for this. The interior was also cool, with some LED lights of Japanese flowers or stars on the ceiling. There is mainly street parking and parking garages nearby!

Never disappoints!! Staff is nicer than ever. The fish hands down is fresher and prepared better than 95% of the others in this process point! Try it and Enjoy... free validated parking in back and remember Cash only.

Hide Sushi...after all these years I finally found you! Nice and cozy Japanese restaurant that serves up great tasting and fresh sushi, sashimi and may other Japanese delights! Ill get right to it, I thought the No.8 Chirashi combo and the No.6 Mixed combo was a great way to start and finish my dinner. I found the service to polite and always on standby to meet any requests. Hide can be a bit on the noisy side but thats not the fault of the restaurant (c'mon fellow Angelinos...take it down a notch). Other than the noise level, you'll get a great dining experience. I was a bit taken aback by the "cash only" policy here. I'm surprised that its still a practice in todays day and age. But hey, its their place their rules. If you're strapped for cash they do have an in house ATM machine. Miscellaneous: All things being true for this part of Sawtelle blvd. Parking can be challeng. I did find a parking structure around the corner. Homeboy was waving his orange flag and charged me $10. It is what it is. Finally...I thought the prices were reasonable for the quality and portions size you get. Overall: I would absolutely come back to Hide Sushi! There still plenty of menu items I need to get to. Recommended.

Was on a another fine sushi binge recently when a buddy recommended Hide Sushi at Sawtelle. Did not have a reservation, but the Hostess was able to get us great seats right at the sushi bar. The Chefs were friendly and also accommodated our request for an Omakase dining experience. Sushi was great, enjoyed the atmosphere, and of course the interactions with the Sushi Chefs.

Food quality - excellent! So fresh Pricing - good Parking - free in the back Service - excellent Ambience - excellent Payment - this is what loses a star for me. I would have ordered so much more food but only cash I had was an emergency $20 in my car. Sad day

This Hide sushi place is a hidden gem on Sawtelle! My first time here and I was happy that they have their own parking lot which they validate for an hour! This is so important to me since finding parking around here is so difficult! The service was amazing with green tea constantly being topped off and the ambiance is very casual and gets busy quick. The sushi was fresh and the tempura wasn't oily or greasy at all. You can always tell a place is good by their miso soup which was delicious! Really a class act in here and I will come by when they have lunch specials next time!
